Lesson no.100

Sometimes two hands are not enough...

It was 7.00 in the morning and I was all set to go back to England after a fruitful visit to Frankfurt. I started walking the pebbled street outside my hostel with a suitcase in one hand, a handbag and bus tickets in the other. It was a very cold morning and the whole place was covered with foggy mist and I could see the faint headlights of the bus I was about to board. The cold wind was making my eyes water and I could feel cold drops rolling down my cheeks. Suddenly I saw a couple bidding goodbye on this rather empty station steps. They looked like one of those porcelain figures with the guy's hands cupping the girl's face and wiping her tears. And at that moment my heart froze. I wanted to stop and wipe my eyes, but my hands were too full. I wanted someone to stop me and tell me 'Its going to be alright, you won’t miss the bus, just stay for a while let me kiss you goodbye.'

But I was alone with not even a soul near me to warm my heart and I realised that one needs another pair of hands to hold them when their own hands are too busy fighting the world.

A small kiss, a warm hug and a reassuring look is all a person needs...
